Thanks a lot for the info.

I will be stopping by to check out the sites you mentioned.

I know there are those that don't think it is wise to attempt fighting back against the spammers since they fear that an escalation will only eat up Internet resources and degrade the value of the net.

Well, that may be true, but perhaps that is exactly what is needed to put a stop to the spammers.

The spammers are already making the net a much less pleasant place to do business. And in more ways than just clogging in-boxes with their crap.

As someone who runs an online business or two -- and as you might imagine, does not SPAM anyone ever -- the spammers have made it harder for me to get legitimate messages to my customers when they contact me with questions or problems.

My messages are sometimes stopped by spam filters and I end up with angry customers that think I am ignoring them. Because of spammers.

Then there's the general distrust many potential customers must experience due to the climate of sleaze that spammers bring to the entire net. To say nothing of the phishers, identity thieves and other bottom-feeding scum.

I feel strongly that it's time to fight back against these low-life even if we risk making the net a little less pleasant to use for a while. Enough is enough.

I agree 100%. Spammers should not get away with this.

The spammers organized the attack on a website called 'specialham.com'

Many disgruntled former blue frog users have convened at a website:
http://thecarpcstore.com/phpbb2/viewforum.php?f=1
where we are thinking of ways to strike back against the spammers.

In particular, there is a feeling that specialham.com should stop being allowed to function as a place where spammers can plot malicious attacks. Some people are running a script from
http://firepacket.net/proxyvampire.html

which, when run by many people at the same time, seems to make it very hard for specialham.com to be very active ;-)
